The masthead sets out who is responsible for LitigationLawyer.in and the standards our work is held to. It is a companion to our Team page and, together with our editorial policies, forms the public record of how this publication is run.
Publisher
LitigationLawyer.in is an independent Indian legal information and litigation news publication. It covers the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, legislation and policy, the legal profession, analysis and opinion, and legal education. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not solicit clients for any advocate. The basis for this positioning under the Bar Council of India Rules is set out in full in our BCI Compliance Notice.
Editorial structure
Coverage is organised around eight verticals — Supreme Court, High Courts, Legislation & Policy, Legal Education, Legal Profession, Analysis & Opinion, Guides & Resources, and Practice Area News — overseen by an Editor-in-Chief who holds overall responsibility for the publication, and coordinated by a Managing Editor responsible for the editorial workflow, fact-checking, and corrections. Each vertical has clear ownership so that standards are applied consistently across the site. The responsibilities of each role are described on our Team page.
Our standards, in summary
The following standards govern everything we publish, and they are the commitments by which readers can hold us accountable:
- Named bylines. Every article carries a named human byline. We do not use “admin” or pseudonymous bylines, and we do not present AI-generated text as journalism.
- Cited sources. Every article draws on authoritative sources — judgments, statutes, official gazettes, and other primary material — and cites them, so that a reader can trace what we report.
- Verified judgment coverage. Judgment reports verify the case name, court, bench composition, citation, and date before publication, and lead with a Case Facts box.
- Educational framing. Educational and guide content is clearly labelled as general information, never as legal advice, and directs readers to a qualified advocate for their own situation.
- Human judgment, not AI analysis. AI tools are never used to write judgment analysis, legal opinion, case commentary, or the body prose of our articles, as our AI Content Policy explains.
- Independence. Editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers and sponsors, and we publish no promotional coverage of advocates or firms.
- Open corrections. Errors are corrected promptly and logged publicly at /corrections/.

LitigationLawyer.in is independently operated and free to read. Where it is supported commercially, it is through clearly-labelled advertising and sponsored content that complies with Bar Council of India advertising standards — not through client-solicitation advertising, paid guest posts, or coverage disguised as editorial. Our commercial standards are described on our Advertise and Sponsored Content Policy pages.

A living record
This masthead will be updated as the publication grows — as named editors and contributors join, as our coverage expands, and as our standards develop. It is intended as an honest, public account of who we are and how we work, and we hold ourselves to what it says.
Editorial independence in practice
Independence is easy to assert and harder to practise, so it is worth being concrete about what it means here. Advertisers and sponsors have no role in deciding what we cover or how; they do not see articles before publication, and they cannot obtain favourable coverage or the removal of unfavourable coverage. Sponsored content, where we accept it, is clearly labelled and kept visually distinct from editorial, and it must comply with Bar Council of India advertising standards. We do not publish promotional coverage of advocates or firms, we do not sell guest posts, and we do not list the site on paid guest-post marketplaces. If any content on the site ever reads as advertising dressed up as journalism, that is a failure of our standards, and we want to hear about it.
Complaints and right of reply
We take complaints about our coverage seriously. If you believe an article is inaccurate, unfair, or falls short of the standards on this page, write to editorial@litigationlawyer.in setting out your concern and, where relevant, the source that supports it. We will review it, correct genuine errors through our Corrections process, and, where fairness requires, offer an appropriate opportunity to respond. Considered responses to our analysis or opinion are welcome as letters or as signed contributions through Write for Us. Disagreement with our conclusions is not the same as an error of fact, but we would always rather engage with a serious objection than ignore it.
Our commitment to readers
The purpose of a masthead is accountability: to say plainly who is responsible for a publication and what it can be held to. Our commitment to readers is that our journalism will be accurate, honestly framed, independent, and open to correction; that our content will be educational and never a disguised solicitation; and that we will be transparent about who we are, including about the fact that, as a young publication, our named masthead is still being built. We would rather earn trust slowly through honest practice than claim it through a fabricated front.
