They filed suit to get money they wanted to spend on infrastructure in the city, which in this case was to keep a lot of the smaller towns in the city from being flooded.
If its true, that the cities are not actually being flooded, then that means that the states money will be spent on a lot more things in the future, which is not necessarily a bad thing. There is a saying that “When the economy is as good as it was in the 30’s and 40’s, the government isnt needed.” I think that saying applies to the states budget in this case, and if the cities are not being flooded then we should close them off.
The idea behind this is that the state of Connecticut will need to spend a lot more money so they can protect the city from flooding.
